From the Geelong Independent 13/03/2009 "Buckets and Bouquets":
Bouquets to the Victoria Police show and pipe bands for their performance at Portarlington on March 1. We left in high spirits. Their rendering of 'Amazing Grace' was moving as special thoughts were sent out to bushfire victims"
Uplifting Performace, Leopold.
On behalf of fellow Aussies, I would just like to say that I/we are EXTREMELY proud of each and every one of you for what you have done for the bush fire victims these past few weeks. Your music and friendly faces made all the difference, even to people like me who watched it all on tv. You are a positive role model for the police force too.

'Through these concerts we were able to provide a service to our local community, entertain and educate a large number of children, inspire a number of budding young musicians, and enhance the image these young people have of Victoria Police. You have a very fine public relations unit in this band.'
Mary, Glen Waverley

'I could not have wished for such an extraordinary response. People of every colour, shape, size and culture were dancing, and dancing together. It was the most amazing and rewarding sight. People who are normally nervous of anyone in uniform completely forgot about their fears, and saw that these people in uniform are in fact just people, who also play great music'
