All Victorian Police members have a rank.  You can identify their rank by looking at their 'epaulettes'.  This is what police have on the shoulders of their uniforms.  They look like the pictures below.

There are 13 different ranks within Victoria Police, ranging from constable through to Chief Commissioner.
