Our ServicesPermit to conduct an event on a public roadRelease date: Thu 2 February 2006 Last updated: Mon 25 February 2013 Any person wanting to conduct races or competitions, other than car races, that are on or involve a public road, such as marathons and fun-runs, must obtain a permit if the event involves more than 30 competitors and one of the competitors will be declared a winner at the conclusion of the event. Events that fall outside this legal requirement may need local council or other approval. Further information may be found by downloading a copy of the guidelines.
