What to know before you go: sexual assault and consent

What to know before you go about sexual assault and consent.

Sexual assault is any unwanted sexual behaviour which includes grabbing someone on a dance floor, kissing, or touching.

You can say no at any time, even if you have previously said yes. Any sexual activity that happens without your consent is a criminal offence.

If you are a victim of sexual assault, police are always here to listen, and we will thoroughly investigate all reports of sexual assault.

So remember to stay safe, look after yourself and others, and in an emergency always call Triple Zero (000).
