Victoria Police is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of two men found in a burnt out car in Footscray in 2001

The charred remains of Huu Ky Nguyen, 40, and Vien Dinh Tran, 28, were discovered inside a car which had been set alight in Tannery Reserve on Sunday 23 September 2001.

Investigations revealed that the two deceased were left bound in the back seat of the car.

Detectives are appealing for public assistance to help solve the double murder and hope the reward will encourage anyone with information about the deaths to contact them.

A reward of up to $100,000 will be paid at the discretion of the Chief Commissioner of Police, for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for the deaths of Huu Ky Nguyen and Vien Dinh Tran.

The Director of Public Prosecutions will consider, according to established guidelines, the granting of indemnification from prosecution to any person who provides information as to the identity of the principal offender or offenders in this matter.
