Pedestrian dies after being struck by car in Clayton

Police are investigating after a pedestrian died in a collision at Clayton this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports of the collision involving a car and pedestrian at the intersection of the Princess Highway and Wellington Road about 9.10am.

Paramedics arrived, but sadly the pedestrian, a 68-year-old Clayton woman, died at the scene.

The male driver, a 27-year-old man, stopped at the scene and has spoken with police.
