Pre-application forms for protective services officers

Learn about the pre-application forms when you apply to become a protective services officer with Victoria Police.

Prior offence history

If you are unsure and would like to check if your offence history will affect your application, you can consult the Prior History Guidelines.

If you have further concerns, you can complete a Voluntary Disclosure form which will be assessed prior to submitting your application.

Voluntary Disclosure Form

Submit a Voluntary Disclosure form (VFD) if you are unsure whether your prior history makes you eligible/not eligible to apply. Some considerations are:

  • your police contacts
  • driving infringements
  • prior offence history.

A full check of all Victoria Police, interstate and associated agency databases will be undertaken.

Instructions for submitting your VDF

Your VDF must be submitted using a desktop computer or laptop.

To submit the form:

  1. save the form to your laptop or computer before completing your responses
  2. complete the required fields
  3. send the form for review to recruitment-vdf-mgr@police.vic.gov.au.

Medical conditions

If you are unsure and would like to check if your medical history will affect your application, you can consult the Medical Standards.

If your question is not answered in the guidelines, please complete the Preliminary Enquiry of Medical Condition form.

Email the form to the Victoria Police Medical Advisory Unit at recruit-medicalenquiries-mgr@police.vic.gov.au.

We strongly suggest you assess both sets of guidelines before submitting your application.
