Victoria Police’s F1 Australian Grand Prix Safety Tip Competition – terms and conditions of entry

Information on how to enter, mechanics of entry, and the prize form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Entry into the Competition (Entries) is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Entry is via Facebook Messenger only.


ELIGIBILITY

Entry is only open to residents of Australia aged 18 years or older (Entrants)
Employees of Victoria Police and their immediate families are ineligible to enter the Competition.

COMPETITION PERIOD

The Competition commences on Tuesday, 25 February 2020 and ends on Tuesday, 3 March 2020.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter the Competition, Entrants must subscribe to Victoria Police’s Messenger service on Facebook, which is available free of charge. You must have a Facebook Messenger account to enter. Entry to this competition (game of skill) is free.

The competition challenge will be broadcast to subscribers via Facebook Messenger during the Competition Period. Entrants will need to complete the challenge in order to qualify to win the prize.

Entrants may only submit one entry and the entry must be submitted via Facebook Messenger. Answers posted elsewhere will be deemed invalid.

Entries will be deemed accepted at the time of receipt by Victoria Police and not at the time of transmission. Entries received will be considered final by Victoria Police. Incomplete, inaccurate, erroneous, ineligible, or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. Victoria Police accepts no responsibility for late, lost, or misdirected entries.

Costs associated with accessing the Competition remain an Entrant’s responsibility and may vary depending on the internet service or telecommunications provider used.

Facebook membership, notifications, pages, applications, and use of Facebook generally is subject to its prevailing terms and conditions of use at www.facebook.com/policies. The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook. Entrants understand that they are communicating and providing their information and entry to Victoria Police and not to Facebook. Entrants are solely responsible and liable for any content or information they transmit to other internet users. To the extent permitted by law, each Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend, and forever hold harmless, Facebook and its associates agencies and companies, against all losses, actions, claims, costs, expenses, and damages (of any nature) which may be incurred by the Entrant in respect of the Entrant’s participation in the competition. Any questions, comments, or complaints about the competition must be directed to Victoria Police and not to Facebook.

WINNER DETERMINATION

All eligible Entries received throughout the Competition period will be judged by a panel of judges on Wednesday, 4 March 2020 to determine two (2) winners. All eligible Entries will be judged on a basis of originality and creativity.

This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. The winners will be notified on Victoria Police’s Facebook page and/or Messenger within one (1) business day of the judging. All reasonable steps to notify the winners will be taken by Victoria Police. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The winner must confirm their eligibility to be awarded the prize and their ability to accept the prize within one (1) business day of being successfully notified by Victoria Police that their entry has been judge as the winner, otherwise their Entry will be deemed invalid. In the event Victoria Police cannot successfully contact the winner within one (1) business day of the judging, or in the event of an invalid entry or an ineligible Entrant, or if the Entrant is ineligible to accept or declines the prize, Victoria Police may, in its sole discretion, award the prize to the next best judged entry. Victoria Police will continue to this process until all Entrants have been successfully contacted and the Entrants have confirmed their eligibility to be awarded the prize.

PRIZES

The two (2) entries judged to be the best two (2) from all eligible Entries received during the Competition Period will win a 4-day Family Pass consisting of two (2) Adult and two (2) Children tickets to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne from March 12 – 15, 20202. Each Family Pass prize is valued at $740.00.

The tickets cannot be sold, scalped, auctioned, raffled, pledged, or promoted as an incentive or reward by any third party as an inducement for any person or other entity to enter into any commercial or other engagements with that third party.

Victoria Police reserves the right to request the winners to provide information (personal details or photo identification) of those who will be using the tickets to enter the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix event.

It is a condition of accepting and participating in a prize that the winner may be required to sign legal release(s), including prize acceptance release(s) in a form determined by Victoria Police in its absolute discretion.

The total prize value is $1,480.00 ($740.00 X 2 prizes). The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. The prize must be taken as offered and cannot be varied. The prize cannot be used or redeemed in conjunction with any other offer.

GENERAL

Entrants can only enter from their own Facebook Messenger account. Entrants must subscribe (at no cost) to Victoria Police’s Messenger in order to participate in the competition. Entrants who provide incorrect, misleading, or fraudulent information are ineligible to participate in the competition and all entries of an Entrant who is deemed by Victoria Police to have incorrect, misleading, or fraudulent information may, at the discretion of Victoria Police, be deemed invalid. Victoria Police reserves the right to request the Entrant to produce appropriate documentation in order to confirm the Entrant’s personal details and eligibility to claim a prize, before issuing a prize. If any documentation required by Victoria Police is not received by Victoria Police or an Entrant or entry has not been verified or validated to Victoria Police’s satisfaction, then all the entries of that Entrant may be ineligible and deemed invalid.

Entrants are solely responsible and liable for their entries and any other information they transmit to other internet users. Victoria Police may delete, or request deletion of any content posted on the promotional post in accordance with its prevailing terms and conditions. Any entries that are removed by Victoria Police will not be considered eligible entries for the purpose of the competition. Victoria Police is not responsible and excludes all liability (to the greatest extent allowable by law) for the content of any entries submitted for the purposes of the promotion.

Victoria Police will collect personal information about you so that you can participate and so Victoria Police can administer the competition. Victoria Police may use any content and personal information that an entrant has provided for the purpose of running the Competition and in advertisements, publications, media statements, and other promotional material associated with the Competition. For purpose of public statements and advertisement, Victoria Police will only publish the winner’s name. Victoria Police is bound by the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

As a condition of entering this promotion, each Entrant consents to Victoria Police using the Entrant’s entry, name, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without further notification, remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising, or marketing (including any outcome), and/or promoting any products or services by Victoria Police. The Entrant agrees that, in the event they are a winner, the Entrant will participate in all reasonable promoted activities in relation to the Competition.

To the extent permitted by law, each Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend, and forever hold harmless, Victoria Police and its employees, against all losses, actions, claims, costs, expenses, and damages (of any nature) which may be incurred by the Entrant in respect of the Entrant’s participation in the competition.

If the prize becomes unavailable, for any reason beyond the Victoria Police’s reasonable control, then a comparable prize or prize element of equal or greater value will be awarded in lieu.

All of Victoria Police’s decisions in respect of the competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
