Sex offender register statistics

Learn where the statistics relating to the Sex Offenders Registry in Victoria are reported.

Data relating to the Sex Offenders Registry in Victoria is available in different ways. 

Victoria Police Annual Report data

Each year, the Chief Commissioner provides a report to the Minister for Police on data relating to registered sex offenders.

This is required by the Sex Offenders Registration Act 2004, section 70P(1).

This report contains information such as:

  • the number of registerable offenders
  • prohibition orders
  • registration orders.

Victoria Police publish this data each year in the Victoria Police Annual Report.

Crime Statistics Agency data

The Crime Statistics Agency (CSA) is responsible for processing, analysing and publishing all Victorian crime statistics. 

They have been providing this data since 1 January 2015. They complete this reporting independent of Victoria Police.
