Two teenage boys are in hospital, with one in a critical condition following a series of incidents across Wyndham overnight.
Detectives from Operation Alliance have taken charge of the investigation due to possible links to youth gangs.
Between 8pm and 9pm, offender/s entered a gym on Hummingbird Boulevard in Tarneit, where they targeted personal belongings and stole a set of car keys.
The offenders then fled in a stolen a white Honda Accord Euro.
Between 9.30pm and 10.30pm, offender/s targeted a second victim at the same gym, taking off in a blue BYD Sealion.
In the third incident, about 1.15am, two men were targeted leaving a gym on Palmers Road in Truganina.
Six offenders arrived in the BYD Sealion and approached the men as they walked to their car.
Demands were made for property, including phones, and verbal threats were made.
The offenders were unable to reset the victims’ phones and fled in the stolen BYD.
The fourth and final incident occurred just prior to 2am.
The BYD arrived in the vicinity of Ison and Ballan roads in Manor Lakes where five offenders attacked the two teenage boys.
One was stabbed and the other believed to have been ran over.
Both boys, one aged 16 (critical condition), the other 17, were taken to hospital and a crime scene established.
Specialist detectives from Operation Alliance are now thoroughly investigating the series of events.
The operation is dedicated solely to pursuing, disrupting and dismantling the state’s worst youth gangs.
Over the last year, the operation has led to the arrest of over 440 youth gang members a combined 1,381 times, and more than 3,700 charges laid across Victoria.
