Arsonist targets Prahran licensed venue

Police are investigating after a bar was set alight in Prahran this morning.

Emergency services received reports a male offender set fire to the Chapel Street licensed premises before fleeing the scene on foot shortly before 5am.

A man sustained smoke inhalation after unsuccessfully trying to extinguish the fire.

The building sustained significant damage as a result of the blaze.

Police quickly responded to the scene and conducted patrols of the area however the offender was not located.
