Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man after a charity piggybank was stolen in Balaclava last month.
The thief forced entry into a licensed premises on Carlisle Street about 5.30am on Monday, 16 March.
It is believed he stole a piggybank which had around $100 inside it.
No one was inside at the time of the incident, and it is not believed anything else was taken.
The man ran from the scene.
Investigators have released vision and images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
The male is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his 40s to 50s with a shaved head and grey beard.
He was last seen wearing a black puffa vest over a white t-shirt, dark-coloured shorts and black shoes.
