Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after numerous items including cash and jewellery were stolen from a residential premises in Sunbury in March.
The offending male gained access to the premises after ramming the front gate of a property on Old Vinyards Road on Tuesday, 3 March about 2.30pm.
Investigators believe the offender attended the address in a sliver Toyota Prado bearing stolen registration plates.
The thief forced entry to the premises by kicking in the front door, ransacking the premises and fleeing in the Toyota with stolen cash and jewellery totalling about $1100.
The male is described as Caucasian, a slim build, brown hair and aged in his 30s.
He was wearing a blue hoodie with “AMERICAIN” on the back, black pants and white shoes.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area during this period of time and saw anything suspicious, or alternatively, have CCTV footage of anyone entering the property, to contact Crime Stoppers.
