Somerville Highway Patrol officers have charged a 38-year-old man from Cranbourne West with an array of offences following a crash in Skye last month.

Police were called to a single vehicle crash on Hall Road about 5pm on 27 July.

On arrival officers found that a white Holden Octavia had left the road and mounted the guard railing.

It is alleged the car drove for at least 50 meters before coming to a grinding halt.

Police spoke to the driver of the car who refused to undergo a preliminary breath test.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and bloods were taken.

The man has since been charged on summons with refuse preliminary breath test, drive under the influence, exceed prescribed concentration of alcohol, driving while disqualified and careless driving.

He is expected to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 16 September.
