DECLARATION OF DESIGNATED AREA UNDER SECTION S.10E(1)

A designated area has been declared incorporating all public places within an area contained within Deer Park and surrounds including:

From the intersection of Station Road and Dover Street, to Dover Street and President Road, to President Road and Oakwood Drive, to Oakwood Drive and Neale Road, to Neale Road and Birchwood Boulevard, to Birchwood Boulevard and Newbury Street, to Newbury Street and Gould Street, to Gould Street and Mawson Avenue, to Mawson Avenue and Station Road, to Station Road and Dover Street and all footpaths on those roads. 

This declaration will operate on the 19th June 2020 between 2:30pm and 2:30am Saturday 20th June during which time Victoria Police personnel are authorised to exercise the following powers:

Members of the police force are duly empowered under the act to conduct limited searches of persons and things in possession of that person or under the control of that person for weapons.

You and /or the things in your possession or under your control are within that public place or designated area.

A member of the police force intends to conduct a limited search of you and your things. 

a.       You are requested to co-operate with that search;

b.      You may be requested to remove items of outer clothing such as headwear, scarves, jackets, etc.;

c.       You may be searched using an electronic wand;

d.      You may be requested to remove items from any bags or pockets;

e.      You may be given a “pat down” search.

It is an offence to fail to comply with any direction to leave a designated area without reasonable excuse.
