Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious injury collision in Craigieburn last night.
It is believed a car struck a pedestrian on Craigieburn Road about 6.50pm.
The pedestrian, a 76-year-old Craigieburn man, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The alleged driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old Mernda man, was interviewed by detectives and released pending further investigation.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.
