Maroondah Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following an attempted fire at a tobacco store in Ringwood North last month.
It’s believed a male entered the business inside a shopping centre on Warrandyte Road just after 1am on 13 May.
He threw two lit Molotov cocktails at the store which failed to ignite but slightly charred the floor outside.
No access was gained to the store, and no one was inside at the time of the incident.
The man then fled in a red sedan and is yet to be located at this stage.
He is described as Caucasian and was wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and black shoes.
Investigators have released images in the hope that someone might come forward with information.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV/dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
