Detectives investigate Drysdale death

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following an alleged assault in Drysdale earlier this month.

Officers responded to reports of an altercation between two men at a property on Murradoc Road about 11.20am on Sunday 10 May.

An 80-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where he died on Monday, 18 May.

A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene, interviewed by detectives and released pending further investigation.

Investigators believe the people are known to each other.

A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing.

Detectives are not searching for anyone else in relation to the incident.
