Detectives investigate Redan death

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of an infant in Redan.

Emergency services were called to a property on Leith Street on 20 September where a 8-month-old baby was located unresponsive.

CPR was performed and she was taken to a Ballarat hospital just after 1pm.

She was later transferred to a Melbourne hospital where she died today.

A 23-year-old man has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

The exact circumstances are yet to be determined and detectives from the Homicide Squad will investigate.
