Driver charged after pedestrian injured in Broadmeadows

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a woman after a car allegedly struck a pedestrian in Broadmeadows this morning.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Pearcedale Parade about 9.25am.

The pedestrian, a 52-year-old Broadmeadows woman, was transported to hospital and remains in a critical condition.

The 27-year-old driver of the car stopped at the scene and was interviewed by police.

The Heidelberg Heights woman has been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, careless driving and disobey a red traffic control signal.

She was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 6 May.

Investigators are continuing to appeal for any witnesses that may not have been able to speak with police at the scene to come forward.
