Detectives from the Icarus Taskforce charged a man overnight after border-controlled drugs were detected concealed inside a convection oven sent through the domestic freight system.
Collaboration between the Icarus Taskforce and Australian Border Force (ABF), including a thorough forensic search, revealed a concealment hidden within the oven.
The oven was deconstructed and found to contain two blocks of compressed powder.
A 31-year-old Rowville man was arrested yesterday afternoon at his home address.
He was interviewed by investigators and subsequently charged with trafficking large commercial quantities of methylamphetamine and cocaine, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
The man was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 15 May 2025
