Fatal collision in Bannockburn

Police are investigating a fatal collision in Bannockburn this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports a van and truck had collided on Bannockburn-Shelford Road about 7.40am.

It is understood the vehicles collided head-on, forcing the van down an embankment and into a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the van, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck wasn’t injured and stopped at the scene.

Ballarat Highway Patrol officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
