Fatal collision in Burwood East

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Burwood East this afternoon.

It is understood a motorbike and a car collided on Burwood Highway, near the intersection of Mahoneys Road, about 3.50pm.

Emergency services worked on the male rider, who is yet to be formally identified, but he died at the scene.

The female driver of the car stopped at the scene and was not injured.

Officers are working to establish the exact circumstances of the collision.
