Fatal collision in Coburg

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Coburg this evening.

It is understood a car and a skateboard rider collided at the intersection of Moreland Road and Gordon Street about 7.30pm.

The yet-to-be formally identified skateboard rider died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is currently speaking with police.

The investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing.
