Fatal collision in Lalor

Police are investigating a fatal collision in Lalor this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports two cars had collided at the intersection of Dalton Road and Burton Street just after 6am.

The female passenger of that vehicle, a 49-year-old Lalor woman, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

The male driver, a 52-year-old Lalor man, was not injured and was arrested at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are enroute and will investigate the circumstances of the collision.

Traffic disruptions are expected in the area for some time.
