Fatal collision in Nelson

Police are investigating a fatal collision in Nelson this morning.

It is understood a car and truck collided on Portland-Nelson Road about 7.30am.

The driver of the car, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The male driver of the truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are working to establish the circumstances of the collision.
