Fatal collision in Walpeup

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Walpeup this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to reports of two vehicles colliding on the Mallee Highway about 3.40pm.

The driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles died at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The only passenger from the second vehicle was taken by road to hospital with serious injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated.
