Ballarat Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal crash in Buninyong this evening.
It is believed a white Toyota was travelling south-east along the Buninyong-Mount Mercer Road when it lost control and crashed about 7.50pm.
The driver and sole occupant, a 55-year-old Buninyong woman, died at the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
