Fatal crash in Camberwell

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Camberwell.

Investigators have been told a car crashed into a tree on Regent Street, Camberwell about 10.15am on 25 September.

Emergency crews were quickly on scene and treated the driver, a 91-year-old from Glen Iris, and his passenger, an 86-year-old woman from Glen Iris.

Unfortunately the woman died at the scene.

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
