Fatal crash in Poowong

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred in Poowong this afternoon.

Investigators have been told a car left the road and cashed into a tree on Timms Road about 1.30pm.

The yet to be formally identified driver died at the scene.

Traffic diversions are currently in place.
