Fatal fire in Springvale South

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following a fatal fire in Springvale South overnight.

Emergency services were called after reports of a fire in a bedroom of the property on Friday 3 July just before 11pm.

A man who was pulled from the room unresponsive was taken to hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

A crime scene was established and an arson chemist and detectives attended the property today.

The investigation remains ongoing.
