Fatal house fire in Wendouree

Police will prepare a report for the coroner following a fatal fire which occurred in Wendouree this morning.

Emergency services were called to a block of units on Marigold Street after reports of a fire about 6.30am.

Crews extinguished the blaze and located a man inside who was extracted from the property unresponsive.

He was treated at the scene but could not be revived.

The cause of the fire is believed to be non-suspicious.
