Fifteenth person charged following Kings Domain affray

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a fifteenth person following an alleged affray and assaults which occurred in Melbourne in August.

Police will allege the men assaulted people in Kings Domain on Sunday 31 August around 5pm.

Detectives arrested a 35-year-old Berringama man in Albury on 1 October.

He has been charged with violent disorder, affray, wilful damage and commit indictable offence on bail.

The Berringama man faced Wodonga Magistrates’ Court later that afternoon and has since been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 8 October.

This arrest follows 14 other people who have been charged in relation to the alleged incident:

  • A 32-year-old Balwyn man was charged with violent disorder, affray, assault by kicking, discharge missile and other offences
  • A 23-year-old Mooroolbark man was charged with violent disorder, affray and assault by kicking
  • A 20-year-old Ardeer man was charged with violent disorder, affray and discharge missile
  • A 29-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with violent disorder, affray, unlawful assault and discharge missile
  • A 31-year-old Mitcham man was charged with violent disorder, affray and assault with a weapon
  • A 34-year-old Werribee man was charged with violent disorder, affray, assault by kicking and commit indictable offence on bail
  • A 25-year-old Camperdown man was charged with violent disorder, affray, unlawful assault and discharge missile
  • A 22-year-old Benalla man was charged with violent disorder, unlawful assault and discharge missile
  • An 18-year-old Newcomb man was charged with violent disorder, affray and assault with a weapon
  • A 20-year-old Yea man was charged with violent disorder, affray and discharge missile
  • A 16-year-old boy from the Darebin area was charged with violent disorder, affray and unlawful assault
  • A 19-year-old man from Pakenham was charged with violent disorder, recklessly cause injury, affray and unlawful assault
  • A 22-year-old Streatham man was charged with violent disorder, affray and unlawful assault
  • An 18-year-old Bayswater man was charged with violent disorder, affray and unlawful assault
