Moorabbin Highway Patrol are investigating after the driver of a car lost control and crashed in Clayton South overnight.
Officers have been told the vehicle careered through the end of Clearly Court and into an adjacent park before it crashed into the back fence of a factory that fronts Whiteside Road shortly after 1am.
The Toyota Crown ended up on its side leaving the driver and four occupants trapped.
Fire Rescue Victoria assisted police on scene to remove the three men and two women from the vehicle.
The quintet, ranging in age from 19 to 25, were all taken to hospital with varying injuries. The four passengers are believed to have suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries while the driver escaped serious injury.
Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision with the male driver to be interviewed in relation to the incident.
