Girl dies after two-vehicle collision in Airly

The eight-year-old girl involved in a collision in Airly last week has sadly passed away in hospital.

The Sale girl was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the Kia Carnival she was travelling in collided with a Kia Sportage on Airly Road about 8am on 21 April.

The two other occupants of the Carnival, a woman and child, sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the Sportage, a woman in her 60’s, was airlifted to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
