Glenburn bus collision update

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate yesterday’s multi-vehicle collision in Glenburn.

A bus carrying 18 passengers was involved in a collision with two cars on the Melba Highway near Two Hills Road about 2.40pm.

The driver of a white Toyota Yaris, a 52-year-old woman from Ringwood East, sadly died at the scene.

The passenger of the Toyota Yaris, a 16 -year-old girl from the Maroondah area, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the other car, a blue Toyota Corolla, was a 27-year-old Wangaratta man who was not injured.

The driver of the bus, a 76-year-old Eltham man, was not injured.

Of the 18 passengers in the bus, several were injured, including:

• A 17-year-old boy from the Mansfield area who was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries
• A 16-year-old from the Manningham area who was taken to hospital with serious injuries
• A 50-year-old Windsor man who was taken to hospital with serious injuries

No one has been arrested or charged over the incident.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have processed the scene.
