Homicide Squad appeal for dashcam following Jung death

Detectives from the Homicide Squad are issuing a narrowed down appeal for footage as part of their investigation into the death of a man in Jung last week.

Investigators are appealing for dashcam footage from anyone who was travelling along the Henty Highway between Horsham and Byrneville between 10pm on Sunday, 15 March and 1am on Monday, 16 March.

The appeal follows an incident where emergency services were called to reports of a man’s body located off the Henty Highway near Finlayson Road at about 9.15am on 16 March.

The deceased, an 84-year-old Minyip man, suffered a fatal assault and died at the scene.

A 49-year-old Minyip man has since been charged with one count of murder.

He was remanded to appear at Horsham Magistrates’ Court on 22 July.
