Detectives from the Homicide Squad are investigating after a man died in hospital following a shooting in Melbourne’s CBD early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the corner of Franklin and Elizabeth streets just before 4am on Sunday, 7 September following reports of a gunshot.
A short time later, a 26-year-old Seabrook man presented at a Parkville hospital with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
He died from his injuries shortly after.
Whilst the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still being determined, initial enquiries indicate that this was a targeted incident.
At this stage no arrests have been made.
