Image released following hit-run collision in Heidelberg West

As part of the ongoing investigation into the hit-run collision in Heidelberg West over the weekend, Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have released an image of the stolen vehicle.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the location of the Black Honda CRV and or the woman alleged to have stolen the car, to come forward.

Emergency services were called to Blackwood Parade on Saturday 1 August following reports a man had been hit by a car about 7.30pm.

It believed the man was struck by his vehicle as he attempted to prevent an unknown female from stealing the car.

The offender drove away in the stolen Honda, and both are yet to be located.

A 68-year-old Heidelberg West man was transported to hospital, where he remains, with life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle, which is pictured below on an Automatic Number Plate Recognition image captured earlier this year, has registration number AXA625.

Detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate the vehicle, which may have had the registration plates changed of removed.
