Investigation continues into Maryborough fatal collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision between a car and bicycle in Maryborough yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Timor Road about 4.30pm.

They cyclist, a 67-year-old Maryborough man, was treated at the scene and sadly died.

The driver of the car, a 20-year-old woman also from the Maryborough area, stopped at the scene.

Detectives interviewed the driver who has since been released pending further investigation.

Investigators wish to speak to anyone who travelled along Timor Road about 4.20pm who witnessed the cyclist or collision.
