Man arrested following St Kilda assault

Police have arrested a man following an assault in St Kilda on Tuesday.

It is understood a man entered a business on Fitzroy Street about 12pm on 28 April.

Officers have been told the 39-year-old man approached another man inside the business and assaulted him before fleeing the scene.

Last night, police were called to a licensed venue on Watton Street in Werribee to reports of a man behaving erratically.

Officers attended and arrested a Tarneit man after it was identified he was a person of interest in relation to the incident in St Kilda.

The man was deemed unfit for interview last night. It is expected he will be interviewed today.
