Prahran Divisional Response Unit detectives have seized methylamphetamine with an estimated street value of $6000, a sword and a taser in Albert Park this morning.
Police executed a search warrant at an address on Victoria Street about 6.30am.
The warrant followed an extensive investigation into alleged drug trafficking following a tip off to Crime Stoppers.
Several items were seized including:
• a quantity of methylamphetamine
• taser
• sword
• machete
• bottles containing diazepam
• hundreds of dollars in cash, and
• mobile phones
Police arrested a 59-year-old man from Albert Park at the property.
He was charged with traffick methylamphetamine, possess methylamphetamine, possess diazepam, possess prohibited weapon without approval and deal property suspected proceeds of crime.
He was remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
