Man charged after firearms and drugs seized in Broadmeadows

North West Metro Regional Crime Squad detectives have charged a man as part of an ongoing investigation into a firearms incident in Glenroy last month.


Yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Riggall Street in Broadmeadows where eleven firearms were located and seized, including handguns, a shotgun, and an air rifle.

It is alleged quantities of cannabis and methylamphetamine were located, along with a clandestine laboratory.

A 42-year-old Broadmeadows man was arrested and has since been charged with -

  • possess a traffickable quantity of firearms
  • eleven counts of prohibited person possess firearm
  • four counts of possess prohibited weapon
  • possess cartridge ammunition
  • traffick a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine
  • two counts of possess cannabis
  • possess methyl-amphetamine
  • two counts of possess GHB
  • three counts of possess prescription medication
  • possess heroin
  • deal with property suspected of being proceeds of crime
  • possess a radio communications device
  • handle stolen goods

He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 19 May.

Two men, aged 53 and 19, along with two women, aged 19 and 46, were interviewed and released pending summons.

The arrests relate to an incident where shots were allegedly fired in Belair Avenue, Glenroy on 27 October 2025 and a second incident where shots were allegedly fire on Lewis Street, Glenroy on 4 March.

A 30-year-old Glenroy man was charged the same day after it was alleged five firearms, including an AK47 were seized from a Glenroy home under warrant.

The investigation remains ongoing.
