Man charged after Reservoir non fatal shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have this afternoon charged a man following a non-fatal shooting in Reservoir last month.

With assistance from the Special Operations Group, a 46-year-old Reservoir man was taken into custody in Coburg North around 10.25 this morning.

He has since been charged with prohibited person possess firearm, possess a firearm subject to a Firearm Prohibition Order, commit indictable offence whilst on bail, two counts of unlicenced driving and two counts of contravene a conduct condition of bail.

The man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

The charges follow an incident where a 48-year-old Reservoir man self-presented to a hospital in Heidelberg with a gunshot wound about 7pm on Monday, 31 August.

Police will allege a number of males had attended a factory in Reservoir earlier that day and a dispute occurred.

The 48-year-old man suffered a gunshot to one leg and a stab wound to the other.

He self-presented to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the incident was targeted and parties involved were known to each other.

The investigation remains ongoing.
