Man charged following cafe burglaries in Ballarat area

Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a man today following three alleged café burglaries in the Ballarat area on Monday 20 April.

It is alleged cash was stolen from three separate cafés, one on MacArthur Street in Lake Wendouree about 1am and then two other cafes on Sturt Street in Alfredton just after 4am.

A 31-year-old Sebastopol man has been charged with three counts of burglary and three counts of theft.

He was remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
