Man charged following Keysborough assault

Police have charged a man following an alleged serious assault in Keysborough earlier this year, which left a man requiring eye surgery.

The 49-year-old man was allegedly assaulted following an altercation at a carwash on Cheltenham Road on 10 January.

He sustained serious facial injuries during the incident requiring surgery for a broken nose and fractured eye socket.

Following extensive investigations, a 30-year-old Springvale South man was arrested on Railway Parade in Noble Park on Wednesday evening.

Detectives from Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at the man’s address in Springvale South, where they located and seized a firearm, ammunition, drugs and mobile phones.

The 30-year-old man was charged with offences including:

- recklessly cause serious injury

- recklessly cause injury

- intentionally cause injury

- assault

- unlawful assault

- possess cannabis

He was bailed to Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 24 March.
