Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged assault in Mornington yesterday afternoon.
A man was found with critical injuries outside a property in Cooba Court about 3.40pm.
The 41-year-old man was treated by ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Police responded and arrested a 35-year-old man a short time later.
He was interviewed by detectives and charged with recklessly cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, use knife in the commission of an assault and commit an indictable offence while on bail.
The Mornington man was remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
