Man charged following series of Berwick burglaries

A man has been charged following a series of alleged burglaries in Berwick.

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the 26-year-old Narre Warren man in Narre Warren yesterday afternoon.

He was charged with 40 offences including:

• six counts of burglary
• six counts of theft of motor vehicle
• four counts of attempted theft of motor vehicle
• escape custody
• commit indictable offence whilst on bail

He was remanded in custody overnight to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ court this morning.

The charges relate to an alleged burglary at a mechanics on Enterprise Avenue about 9:15pm on Thursday 23 April where he stole a Mitsubishi Triton.

Detectives will allege the accused committed a series of commercial burglaries in the Berwick area overnight on 23 April.

The investigation remains ongoing.
