Man charged with murder following 2025 Dandenong death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man with murder following the death of a man in Dandenong in March 2025.

A 50-year-old Dandenong man was arrested yesterday, and he has since been charged with one count of murder.

The man appeared at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today where he was further remanded to 21 August.

The charge follows an incident where a 52-year-old Alexandra man was found by a passerby on Fifth Avenue in Dandenong around 6.55am on Friday, 28 February 2025.

He was conveyed to hospital to be treated for serious head injuries where he later died on Saturday, 1 March.

Police do not believe the parties involved were known to each other.

The investigation remains ongoing.
