Man dies following Brunswick collision

A man has died following a collision in Brunswick earlier this week.

Emergency services were called to reports a Toyota Camry collided with a Toyota Yaris at the intersection of Moreland and Sydney roads about 2.15pm on Tuesday, 6 January.

The Yaris then crashed into a pole.

The driver of the Yaris, an 87-year-old Northcote man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he later died.

The passenger, an 89-year-old Northcote woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Camry, a 39-year-old woman, was not injured and stopped at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision.
